Truss Failure

Upon opening the ceilings and inspecting the localized areas of deflection, the open web truss framing, and the wall separations, it became apparent that the structural issue has been an ongoing problem for some time, evidenced by improper repairs to the localized areas. It was apparent that the previous repairs had been performed in a way that was deficient in design and implementation. Due to the ongoing structural issue and potential health concerns, it is the opinion of the engineer that immediate attention needs to be directed to remediate the problem in the area highlighted. It is also the opinion of the engineer that the open web truss system was deficient in design and manufactured in a defective way
